Premise: Wedding Planner Mystery follows the exploits of a quirky but lovable event planner who makes murder as fun as can be. Homicide doesn’t follow our heroine; she seeks it out. Using her circle of contacts, her friendship with a reporter and the same research skills that enable her to plan distinctive events – if an unsolved murder occurs in Seattle, Carnegie will find out about it. Review: I have no qualms about TV movies so when this movie was suggested to me I gladly saw it.  It was a way for me to see Erica Durance on TV and most importantly the movie is based on a novel. The story is far from realistic but I don’t think that what they were aiming for, I mean the basis of the story might be but the way everything played out and was interwoven did not ring true.

As soon as I heard the score I quickly lowered my expectations, and if I had read the synopsis before I probably wouldn’t have watched the movie. It became obvious that the most important feature of the movie was the love story. Investigating the murder and everything else around it was put there to take up space and the only thing they’ve actually put some energy on – a tiny effort – was the love story. I can understand this choice but I don’t have to agree with it.
The movie was barely entertaining, Carnegie Kincaid reacts in ways I did not understand a lot of it didn’t make sense. The only thing the movie as going for it is the cast, Durance might be playing a role she do in her sleep but she did it well. She matched her acting to the silliness of the story. Andrew W. Walker’s character might be the only likable, a bit cliché, character of the story. The two of them are the only memorable people in this movie.
I’m definitely not the target audience for this but go and check it out and come back to tell me what you thought of the movie?
